Celebrate National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day while also giving back.

Scrap your brunch plans. Saturday is National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day and there are plenty of places to get your scoop on while supporting lots of worthy causes! We’re also excited for some female-driven chef series in New York and San Francisco.

  • New York’s Italian fast-casual spot, The Sosta, continues its all-female Guest Chef series this month with Gail Simmons. Her Mafaldini Cavolo with mafaldini pasta, kale, lemon and stracciatella will be available all February long.
  • All Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream locations will open three hours early in celebration of National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day on Saturday. Half of the sales made between 9 a.m. and noon will be donated to She Should Run, a nonprofit dedicated to encouraging women to run for political office.
  • Toby’s Estate Coffee and Ice & Vice at TSQ MKT (that’s short for Times Square Market) are also celebrating National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day by giving away free scoops of ice cream to the first 10 costumers to stop by the pop-up. Ice & Vice will open shop at 10 a.m., while Toby’s gets a head start at 7 a.m. Additionally, 5% of sales from that Saturday will be donated to the Robin Hood Foundation as part of the I Scream! charity.
  • Tickets for Dominique Crenn’s dinner series, The Women of Food, are available today. In collaboration with Resy, Petit Crenn in San Francisco will host 12 guest chefs over six nights of collaborative dinners. The lineup includes women from all over the world like Judy Joo, Barbara Lynch, Nancy Silverton, Niki Nakayama, Karen Keygnaret, Nina Compton, Traci Des Jardins, Einat Admony, Elizabeth Faulkner, April Bloomfield, Nancy Oakes and Rebecca Wilcomb. The series kicks off with Admony and Oakes on March 27.
  • Starting Monday, February 5, Oceana in New York is hosting tequila and crudo tastings to benefit Wellness in the Schools, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making school lunches healthier and tastier. For $45, you’ll get five pairings of crudo and tequila, with $5 donated to WITS. The promotion ends on February 11.
